SM Hypermarket: First stop for Miss Philippines-Earth 2013 Aspirants
The search is on for the next Miss Philippines Earth 2013. Beautiful ladies from all over the country will once again clash looks, talents, advocacies, charm and charisma for the chance to take home this year’s crown. So don’t be surprised if the air suddenly gets hot because it’s going to be just the beginning. This year’s beauties for a cause are guaranteed to make it one sizzling summer all right!
But more than physical beauty, Miss Philippines Earth is a pageant cut above the rest. It requires genuine advocacy and concern for the Earth in order to be crowned Miss Philippines Earth. It’s not just a beauty contest, the ladies will be vying for the platform and the privilege of being heard that comes with the crown. The winning Miss Philippines Earth will serve as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other environmental organizations. She will also go on and represent the country in one of the biggest international beauty competitions, the Miss Earth pageant.
SM will provide the sites of the first phase of the pageant. The first screening will be held at SM Hypermarket East Service Road on February 16, 2013. The next screenings will be at SM City Pampanga (Feb 17), SM City Naga (Mar 2), SM City Cebu (Mar 9), and SM Lanang Premiere, Davao City (Mar 17). Aspirants are requested to bring their materials for their talent presentations (maximum of 2 minutes), a swimsuit, a cocktail dress, a photocopy of their birth certificates and high school diplomas, and 2 pictures (1 close-up and 1 whole body). There is also a height requirement of 5’5” and an age bracket of 18-25 years old. Lastly, all applicants are requested to wear light make-up on the day of the screening. And to show support for SM Food Group's Join the M.O.B. (MyOwnBag) campaign and its reUSE advocacy, each applicant must purchase one SM Greenbag upon registration which they can use over and over when they shop.
If you think you got what it takes to be the next Miss Philippines-Earth and be the voice of Mother Earth, then register and go to any of the SM sites for the screening. The time has come for the Filipina beauty to, once again, rise up, let their voices be heard, and make their beauty shine for a cleaner and greener tomorrow.
